4 Top Clubs That Will Exit The Champions League This Week

The UEFA Champions League will return to action this week as Bundesliga defending Champions, Bayern Munich battle Xavi Hernandez’s Barcelona in Group C on Wednesday night. Graham Potter’s Chelsea will be at the Red Bull Arena tomorrow for their group-stage game against RB Salzburg.

As we enter into Matchday five of the UEFA Champions League this week, here is a list of four top clubs that will exit the prestigious competition if they fail to beat their opponents in their various group fixtures.

1. Barcelona;

Xavi Hernandez’s Barcelona will welcome German Bundesliga defending Champions, Bayern Munich at the Spotify Camp Nou Stadium on Wednesday night, and the Spanish giant is in a most-win situation when they face the Bavarians. After failing to grab a win against Inter Milan, Xavi Hernandez’s squad might exit the Champions League this week if they fail to beat Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich has qualified after winning their four games, while Barcelona and Inter Milan are currently fighting for the second spot in Group C. Barcelona has won just one game, drew one, and lost two. On the other hand, Inter Milan drew one, lost one, and won two. The Catalonia club currently has four points while Inter Milan has seven points.

2. Juventus;

Allegri’s Juventus have failed to win their last three UEFA Champions League games, and currently have three points thanks to their win in the first game. The Italian Serie A giant may find themselves going out of the prestigious competition if they fail to beat Maccabi Haifa on Tuesday night.

3. AC Milan;

After losing two consecutive games against Chelsea, Italian Serie A defending Champions might crash out of the UEFA Champions League this week if they fail to beat Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday night. Both clubs currently have the same points (4) in Group E.

4. Sevilla;

The Spanish Laliga club has failed to win any of their four UEFA Champions League group-stage games. Lost two and held to a draw twice. Sevilla currently has two points and would be crashing out of the competition if they fail to beat Copenhagen.
