Man United handed boost as Tottenham could be without two key attackers

Manchester United have been handed a boost as Tottenham Hotspur could be without two key attackers for Wednesday’s Premier League clash at Old Trafford. Richarlison recently picked up a calf injury in Spurs’ 2-0 win over Everton and manager Antonio Conte has confirmed that he is ruled out for the Old Trafford trip. Meanwhile, Dejan Kulusevski has missed five games on the bounce with a hamstring injury and he continues to remain doubtful for the Red Devils clash. Conte has said that he will be assessed but did not guarantee his availability for the game.

Antonio Conte will be looking to get revenge against Manchester United with his Tottenham Hotspur side on Wednesday evening. Spurs played well at Old Trafford under Conte last season but were undone by a finishing masterclass by Cristiano Ronaldo in a 3-2 defeat in Manchester. This time around the north London outfit will be wanting to travel home with a better result against a United side now coached by Erik ten Hag.

Tottenham travel to face Manchester United on Wednesday looking to continue their best ever start to a Premier League season. Spurs currently sit third in the table, level on points with Manchester City , with the match at Old Trafford offering Antonio Conte’s men the chance to go second outright with the Sky Blues not in action during mid-week. Manchester United have had a mixed start to the new season and are currently in fifth position in the Premier League. After a disastrous start to the season, losing to Brighton and Brentford, Erik ten Hag steadied the ship, winning his next four matches.

Erik ten Hag knows that Manchester United have to be more clinical in front of goal when they take on Tottenham at Old Trafford. United played out a frustrating 0-0 draw against Newcastle on Sunday afternoon, as the Reds missed a handful of glorious chances to win the match. Both Fred and Marcus Rashford were guilty of squandering opportunities to score, as Ten Hag’s side only managed to register two shots on target. The Reds have now managed to score just one goal from their last 49 shots, a worrying trend that Ten Hag will be eager for his side to correct.
