Manchester United handed huge injury boost ahead of the Derby against Pep Guardiola’s City

Manchester United are still looking for a fifth consecutive Premier League victory after two of their games were postponed this month.

The team managed by Erik ten Hag has won four back to back games, including big victories over Liverpool and Arsenal at the Threatre of Dreams.

Now, as he gets ready to take charge of his first Manchester Derby, the Dutch tactician has his eyes set on a fifth straight win over their noisy neighbours at the Etihad come October.

In those two matches against Jurgen Klopp & Mikel Arteta’s side, Marcus Rashford netted three goals, but missed the Manchester based outfit previous two games due to injury and wasn’t called up by the Three Lions Boss, Gareth Southgate ahead of England’s upcoming games before the start of the Wold Cup proper. 

With the game against Pep Guardiola’s City coming up next month, New Boss, Erik Ten Hag has just received a significant injury boost.

ESPN reports that the Red Devils are hopeful the 24-year-old will be able to participate in the Manchester derby next month. 

Rashford is expected to start if he heals in time to train next week, as per reports from the above-mentioned source, which claims that United medics do not consider his injury to be serious.

Anthony Martial, on the other hand, isn’t reported to be that close to making a comeback. The 26-year-old hasn’t made a starting appearance this year, and his lone outing came against Liverpool in the second half as a replacement, in which the France international provided an helping hand in the game’s decisive goal.

Martial had a solid preseason, but under Ex-Ajax Boss, his growth has been hindered by injuries, exactly as for the most of his 7 years at Old Trafford.
