Argentina forward Lionel Messi netted a brilliant long range goal and also provided an assist to help the team secure a 2-0 win over Mexico. Argentina suffered a shocking loss to Saudi Arabia in their World Cup opener. They bounced back from their disappointing loss by securing a victory over Mexico. 

Argentina struggled to perform well in the first half, they were later able to find the back of the net thanks to Lionel Messi’s goal.

Messi then became the first men’s player to assist in five World Cups and the 35 year old is expected to perform well in this World Cup. He has now scored same number of goals as Diego Maradona in the World Cup.

Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo was in the scoresheet during their 3-2 win over Ghana in their World Cup opener. Ronaldo became the first men’s player to score in five World Cups after finding the back of the net in Portugal’s clash with Ghana.

Even though Cristiano Ronaldo is currently 37 years old, he still remains one of the best strikers in the world.
