Obi Supporters Are Noise Makers—Nnamani
Senator Chimaroke Nnamani, representing Enugu East Senatorial District has described supporters of Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi as noise makers who do not tolerate others.
The former Enugu State governor claimed that Obi’s supporters, who are known as Obidients, are less than 0.25 percent of the entire 200 million Nigerians.
Daily Post reports that Senator Nnamani, who is seeking a return to the National Assembly, had earlier vowed that Labour Party would not be allowed to win any political office in Enugu State, saying “bye bye for Obidient”.
His stand received lots of backlash, with many of his followers on both Facebook and Tweeter attacking him.
We Won’t Allow Violent Campaigns—Wike
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has said the state has obtained intelligence reports that some misguided politicians have started recruiting cultists, ex-convicts and thugs in furtherance of their political aspirations for 2023.
The governor however said his administration would not allow violence once campaigns start ahead of the general election.
Wike, in a state broadcast on Sunday, emphasised that the state government is not taking intelligence reports at its disposal lightly, and will therefore not allow any politician, no matter his previous or present position, the chance or opportunity to upset the prevailing peace and security in the state.
PDP Chieftains Defect To APC In Kebbi
Some chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Zuru Emirate of Kebbi State have joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the chieftains, who led the defectors were Alhaji Shehu Ribah from Danko/Wasagu, Alhaji Nuhu Goma from Zuru, Alhaji Adamu Jalalo from Fakai and Alhaji Babuga Diri from Sakaba Local Government Area of the State.
The defectors were received at a rally in the State on Sunday by APC big wigs, led by the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Samaila Yombe-Dabai and the party chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru.
