October Fixtures Preview & Predictions Man United’s Games.

With Manchester United’s Premier League fixtures against Crystal Palace and Leeds United postponed in September, the club only faced Europa League opposition before the September international break.

Following a disheartening 1-0 home loss to Real Sociedad, the Red Devils got off the mark in Group E, courtesy of a 2-0 away win over last season’s Champions League surprise package, Sheriff Tiraspol.

Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo were on the scoresheet in Moldova to bolster Man Utd’s spirits ahead of the international window.

Roanldo has especially come under a lot of criticism recently for his poor start to the season, with former United player Paul Parker, while speaking to MyBettingSites.co.uk, labelling the Portuguese star a ‘ticking bomb’ because of his desire to leave and seeming inability to come to terms with a role off the bench.

Aware that lifting the Europa League trophy offers an alternative route into next season’s Champions League group stages, the Premier League heavyweights are unlikely to take their continental duties lightly.

But more importantly, ten Hag’s lads are keen to prove their worth in England’s top flight, where they’ve strung together four straight wins following an underwhelming two-game losing league start.

Sitting six points adrift of pacesetters Arsenal, albeit with a game in hand over the Gunners, Man Utd are very much within touching distance of the Premier League title pace.

Since United’s last top-flight success dates back to 2012/13, there’s no doubt one of ten Hag’s primary assignments as a new manager is to guide the Red Devils back into the title race.

October could prove crucial to Man United’s season as the upcoming FIFA World Cup has already put the squeeze on the Premier League fixtures, forcing the Old Trafford outfit to contest six league games next month.

In addition to their Premier League commitments, United will feature in three Europa League showdowns in October, taking the total count to nine competitive outings in less than 30 days.

And while waiting for his side to get back to business after September’s stop, ten Hag is already scouring the market for new signings ahead of the January transfer window, as per the Daily Mail.

Let’s take a look at all the fixtures awaiting Man United after the international break.

Manchester City – Premier League, 02/10/2022

United’s post-international break Premier League action gets underway at the Etihad Stadium as they take on fierce rivals Man City in a mouth-watering Manchester derby.

The Red Devils’ cross-town journey to take on Pep Guardiola’s high-flyers, alongside other forthcoming Premier League fixtures, will be available to watch online via Manchester United live streams.

After losing both last season’s league meetings with the Cityzens, Man Utd will be out to exact vengeance, inspired by a pair of victories over Arsenal and Liverpool earlier in the season.

But given City’s form, that looks far-fetched.

Prediction: Loss

Omonia – Europa League, 06/10/2022

Man Utd’s post-international window return to Europa League action pits them against Group E whipping boys Omonia at the Neo GSP Stadium.

After losing both opening group stage outings via an aggregate score of 5-1, the Cypriot minnows should be no match for ten Hag’s star-studded squad.

Prediction: Win

Everton – Premier League, 09/10/2022

Man Utd’s trip to Goodison Park to face off bottom-half strugglers Everton, sandwiched by their Europa League doubleheader against Omonia, could prove a stern test for ten Hag’s side.

Keen to avoid another season-long fight against the drop, Frank Lampard sunk fellow underachievers West Ham United 1-0 on the cusp of the international break to get on the win column first time this term.

Prediction: Win

Omonia – Europa League, 13/10/2022

A week after their journey to Cyprus, Man United will welcome Omonia to the Theatre of Dreams for what should be a straightforward test for Ronaldo & Co.

Prediction: Win

Newcastle United – Premier League, 16/10/2022

Even though a mega-money takeover midway through last season allowed Newcastle United to splash out massive figures in the summer transfer window, nothing’s going their way this term.

Barring an enthralling 3-3 home draw with Man City in August, Eddie Howe’s men have reeled off a series of disappointing performances to enter September’s break in mid-table lethargy.

Currently on a run of six winless league games (D5, L1), the Magpies will take a trip to Old Trafford as pre-match outsiders, especially after losing four of their last five Premier League clashes against United (D1).

Prediction: Win

Tottenham Hotspur – 19/10/2022

Tottenham Hotspur’s arrival at the Theatre of Dreams in mid-October will be arguably the most challenging task for ten Hag’s team before the World Cup break.

Antonio Conte’s rampant side have been off to a flying Premier League start, going unbeaten in all seven games (W5, D2), including an overwhelming 6-2 triumph over Leicester City last time out.

This match-up will not only put ten Hag’s managerial credentials to the test, but it will force Man Utd to prove their top-four certificates in front of the home crowd.

Prediction: Draw

Chelsea – 22/10/2022

Another high-profile encounter against London-based powerhouse pits Man Utd against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge only three days after Spurs’ visit to Old Trafford.

But unlike Tottenham, the Blues’ league showings this season have flattered to deceive as they already showed the door to Thomas Tuchel and appointed Graham Potter as their new chief of staff in September.

Despite Chelsea’s sub-par Premier League start, the Red Devils can ill-afford to underestimate perennial top-four contenders, no matter how low they have fallen this term.

Prediction: Draw

Sheriff Tiraspol – 27/10/2022

United had no problems overcoming Sheriff in Moldova, so they should be steamrolling in England.

Provided they win both meetings with Omonia, this clash should serve to seal the Red Devils’ progression beyond the Europa League group stages.

Prediction: Win

West Ham United – 30/10/2022

On paper, Man Utd’s final Premier League fixture in October looks to be a formidable task. But in reality, West Ham are not even a shadow of a team that won European promotion last season.

David Moyes’ men have experienced a faltering 2022/23 Premier League start, suffering five defeats from seven league games (W1, D1).

The international window may, however, give them time to regroup and find a way to steer themselves away from the relegation zone.

Prediction: Draw
