How Osimhen’s lone goal helped Napoli to extend their winning streak

Super Eagles of Nigeria forward, Victor Osimhen was the hero of the night yesterday for Luciano Spalletti led Napoli team in their 11th league game of the new Italian Serie A season away from home against AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

The Nigerian international and former LOSC Lille star has been in incredible form so far this season across all competitions having been firing from all cylinders for the Naples with his vast experience, thereby making some of his goals decisive ones at crucial stage.

The same was the case yesterday in their away league ties against fierce rival, AS Roma where he scored the only goal of the night that separated the two sides at full time which was a replication of his incredible goal scoring form since he returned from injury, having been able to pick up his brilliant run of form at the heart of the attacking line from where he left off.

The game between the two sides was such a keenly contested encounter which hanged on the balance with nothing to separate them going into the half time break which ended goalless draw, before Victor Osimhen outsmarted Chris Smalling in the 80th minute with a beautiful strike that ended the game one nil at full time.

The only goal scored by Victor Osimhen in the show of the night has helped Napoli to extend their winning streaks to 11 games on the run across all competitions and has also made them sit at the top of the Italian Serie A table with just three points clear ahead of second place AC Milan team.

He will then be optimistic to maintain the tempo for his team in their next game as they continue their pursuit in the competition.
