Ranking of Man Utd’s Summer Signings Based on their Performances so far

Manchester United made a big push during the summer transfer window, signing six new players for manager Erik ten Hag.

The squad may not have changed as much as the manager would have liked, with the omission of main target Frenkie de Jong, another striker and a right-back, but there is no doubt that the Red Devils look stronger than at the end of last season.

United also spent a lot of money, spending a total of €238 million. This was higher than budgeted, but it was necessary to make them competitive.

Which of these signings came in quickly and had the biggest impact on the team?

Here are our rankings of the new players based on their performances so far:

6. Martin Dubravka – Newcastle (loan)

Came to the club as a reserve goalkeeper and is unlikely to play a major role this season.

5. Casemiro – Real Madrid (€71 million)

Casemiro’s career at Manchester United is still in its infancy, of course, but he might have hoped to have earned a place in the starting eleven ahead of Scott McTominay by now. However, he only arrived in mid-August and after such a long and successful career at Real Madrid, he needs time to adjust.

4. Antony – Ajax (€95 million)

He made his debut for Man Utd with a goal against Arsenal in the Premier League, but failed to score in the Europa League games against Real Sociedad or FC Sheriff. However, there were many positive things about the Brazilian international.

3. Lisandro Martinez – Ajax (€57 million)

Lisandro Martinez didn’t exactly get off to a dream start at Man Utd, as he was criticised for his role in the 4-0 defeat to Brentford, but he has since blossomed. Ten Hag trusted the Argentine over Harry Maguire and results have improved, while his partnership with Raphael Varane has already paid dividends.

2. Tyrell Malacia – Feyenoord (€15 million)

Man Utd managed to hijack Lyon’s move for the left-back and must be delighted to have done so. The 22-year-old has integrated into the game in an excellent way and has earned a place in the starting eleven, despite looking like he would only be a reserve player this season. Given his affordability, he looks set to be one of the signings of the summer.

1. Christian Eriksen – Brentford (free)

There is no doubt that Eriksen has had the biggest impact on Manchester United this season. He arrived from Brentford and became the midfield conductor at Old Trafford. He is already looking like a player who is important for Man Utd, as he has already got a couple of assists in eight games.
