Governor Nyesom Wike has invited the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, to commission a project in Rivers State on August 9.
The invitation letter was dated August 2nd and it was duly signed by the governor.
In the letter, Wike invited the former Sokoto state governor, who is the chairman of the Senate Committee on Defence, to commission the dualized Ogbumnu-abali road in Port Harcourt.
Wike is a chieftain of the leading opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Tinubu Campaign Organisation Appoints Buhari As National Coordinator

Ahead of next month’s formal commencement of campaigns by candidates for electives offices, the Tinubu Campaign Organisation has announced Hajiya Mariam Buhari, wife of the Deputy Governor of Katsina State as its National Coordinator.
The National Secretary of Tinubu Support Organisation (TSO), Otunba Gboyega Bada, made the disclosure on Thursday at the end of meeting of the TSO.
Bada who also announced Mrs Ayodele Fatunsin, as Deputy National Coordinator said the new development was the outcome of a restructuring exercise in the Tinubu Campaign Organisation for effective communication and synergy.
Don’t Blame Me If APC Fails In 2023 – Chairman Adamu

APC national chairman Abdullahi Adamu has urged party members to close ranks and work as a team to ensure victory in the 2023 general elections. He warned that he would not accept blame for electoral failure.
Mr Adamu made the call while speaking with journalists after inaugurating an eight-member Abia Reconciliation Committee.
He said comprehensive meetings were held between the party’s leaders in Abia before inaugurating the committee.
Mr Adamu added that they were involved in negotiations and its National Working Committee (NWC), especially during its primaries and after, expressing optimism that the committee would ensure peace in the Abia chapter of the APC.
I Did Not Endorse Peter Obi, Labour Party – Ogbonnaya Onu

Former Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, and former Governor of old Abia State, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, has said that contrary to reports making the rounds, he has not at any time endorsed the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi for the presidency come 2023.
Onu, who himself sought and lost the bid to become presidential flagbearer for the All Progressive Congress (APC) ahead of the 2023 election, said his loyalties remain with the ruling party and as such, all reports of his involvement in any form of anti-party activity should be disregarded.
The former minister further asserted in a statement on Wednesday that claims suggesting he endorsed another party, are “mischievous, wicked and unfortunate.”
Onu advised that the public must ensure all claims are verified, adding that he is not to be mistaken for a certain Dr. SKC Ogbonnia, who recent reports suggest endorsed the Labour Party and its candidate.
BoT Sets Up Committee To Reconcile Wike, Atiku

In an effort to reconcile the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2023 Presidential candidate, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike the Board of Trustees (BoT) has set up a committee of all.
Recall that Atiku and Wike’s camp have been in a cold war since the party’s primaries and the unveiling of Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa as the presidential candidate’s running mate.
Briefing journalists at the end of the BoT meeting which lasted for about 4 hours in Abuja, former lawmaker, Senator Abdul Ningi said the committee is expected to interface between the warring camps.
